We welcome you to Greece and specifically to Athens, the country’s historical capital and one of the oldest cities in the world, with a history that goes back to 3,200 BC.

The city is named after the ancient goddess of wisdom and science, Athena.

Athens is a well-known city by the values that characterize our Western civilization were born: Democracy, Philosophy, arts and sciences. That is why it is characterized as the Cradle of Democracy.

It is our pleasure to contribute to enjoy your stay in the city and discover the historical points that created and continue to feed our very cultural culture that has always focused on man, spirituality, and happiness.

Modern Athens allows the visitor to tour a plethora of tourist attractions within the city and enjoy the stunning sea of Attica on the Athenian Riviera’s magical beaches located a breath away from the city centre!
Just outside the city, less than an hour away, one can visit sites with unique historical monuments such as the Tomb of Marathon or Cape Sounio.

Tour of the city of Athens and its most important attractions

It is a complete Athens tour, combining the most important parts of the city, including the Acropolis and the new Museum.

Starting from the Acropolis area, through the Propylaea, we visit the temple of the goddess Athena and the Parthenon, the temple that was dedicated to her. We will have the opportunity to admire the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a stone amphitheatre theatre built-in 161 AD. by the Athenian Herod Atticus. Since 1950, it has been the main venue for the Athens Festival, which runs from May to October each year.

The next great landmark is the Dionysus Theater: it is considered the first theatre dedicated to the god Dionysus. The theatre could accommodate 17,000 people and has excellent acoustics, making it the ideal place for the biggest theatrical event in ancient Athens, Dionysia.

We also have the opportunity to visit the monument of Areios Pagos, a prominent rock northwest of the Acropolis.

We will continue our visit to the Temple of Olympian Zeus, also known as the Olympian Zeus Columns. It was dedicated to “Olympus” Zeus, a name that came from his position as head of the gods of Olympus.

Next stop at the Panathinaiko Stadium (Kallimarmaro): this is the stage where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896.

Also, we will see the former Royal Palace, now the residence of the President of the Republic and then the Parliament where the Monument of the Unknown Soldier is located and where we will watch the famous change of the Presidential Guard (Evzonon) in Syntagma Square.

After admiring the famous “trilogy”, i.e. the three most beautiful buildings of neoclassical architecture, the Academy, the University and the National Library, we will head to Plaka, the most historic and beautiful neighbourhood of Athens, which stretches around the Acropolis. Great place to walk under the stunning views and energy of the Acropolis!

In the Ancient Agora, which was indeed the market of ancient Athens, you can see the Temple of Hephaestus and the Stoa of Attalos. The museum’s exhibits are mainly associated with Athenian democracy. His collection includes clay, bronze and glass objects, sculptures, coins and inscriptions from the 7th to the 5th century BC.

Finally, we will visit the New Acropolis Museum, which is considered the best museum in Greece. It opened its doors in 2009 and already has more than 14.5 million visitors. It opened its doors in 2009 and already has more than 14.5 million visitors.

It was built on an area of 25,000 sq.m. and covers an exhibition space of 14,000 sq.m. Here one has the opportunity to admire the Caryatids but also a view of the archeological excavations and the view of the Acropolis hill.
